2018-2019 Student Scholarship Application

The Tulsa Chapter of AFWA recognizes the needs of students with special experiences and challenges to overcome.  We will provide sponsorships up to $3,000 for those who qualify as a result of persistence and good work that predicts future success.  Criteria include:

  • By the time of the application deadline, student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university and must have 1) completed 60 semester hours with a major in accounting or finance if attending a four-year university, or 2) completed 30 semester hours with a specialty in accounting or finance if attending a two-year university. 

  • Student must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent.

  • Special priority will be given to women, single parents and students working part-time while attending college full-time. Additionally, special priority will be given to students who have some break in his/her academic career due to unforeseen life circumstances and/or experienced unique personal and academic challenges, as described in an essay.

  • Amount will be determined based on needs and qualifications as described in the application and essay, up to $3,000.  Scholarship candidates will be reviewed on leadership, character, communication skills, scholastic average and financial need.

  • One (1) official transcript must be included.
